This is pure silk and velvet. The wine is incredibly rich, yet it is almost weightless to taste . The freshness in the fruit, coupled with the vibrancy, pepper, length and velvet textures is off the hook. The wine expands, gaining in complexity as it flows across your palate. This is mind-blowing juice with a finish that remains with you for close to 60 seconds! The wine, as you probably already know by now, takes its name from the fact that it\'s made from almost 100% pure, old vine Grenache. The actual blend is 97% Grenache with 3% of various other, assorted varieties. 100 Points

RP The 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape Pure looks to be nearly as brilliant as the 2007. One of the vintage’s most compelling wines, it should be drunk now and over the next 12-14 years. Deep ruby-colored much lighter than the Fiancee, with beautiful notes of sweet kirsch liqueur, loamy soil, licorice, spice box, and high quality cigar tobacco, this wine is opulent, fleshy, and flamboyant with great purity.
